how to suffocate part one

to suffocate
you need to cling
on tight
like little monkey hands that scratch air
by gripping on
when there is none to share.
when the boat sinks you climb
up
on
the backs of others.

to suffocate
you need to harrass
like the sandy sound of shorewinds
searing through sea-air
whipping hair, there
and there and there
don't let up, don't stop,
don't let go,
ever.

to suffocate you need
a knot in your shoulders of the
shoulders,
a blur in your eyes
a mustard tenor emmenating
of desperations come and gone
imagined to be real.

to suffocate,
you need to not let go,
ever.
